SUDBURY, MA—The RE/MAX hot air balloon will soar above the grounds of the Sudbury Day Festival on Saturday, September 17, from 3:00-5:00 PM. Wind and weather permitting, several lucky winners will get to soar above the grounds, too.

By making a donation to the Red Cross’s Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund at the Shaw’s customer service desk in Sudbury, contributors will be entered into a drawing for a tethered hot air balloon ride for four. One winner will be drawn each day and posted at www.SamWebb.com, the RE/MAX First Realty, Inc. web site. Additional donations will be accepted at the RE/MAX First Realty booth during Sudbury Day for a chance to win a ride that day.

Imaginations will also soar during Sudbury Day, thanks to the Friends of the Goodnow Library, when noted children’s author Norah Dooley will enchant children by weaving fascinating tales and reading from her series of books entitled Everybody Cooks Rice, Everybody Bakes Bread, Everybody Brings Noodles, and Everybody Serves Soup. Afterward, she will sign copies of her books at the Marlborough Savings Bank booth, and audience members can sample a dish prepared by Sudbury Farms from one of the recipes featured in her books. Those who purchase her books in advance of the event at the Marlborough Savings Bank inside Sudbury Farms will receive priority autographing status.

Finally, taste buds will go soaring when attendees purchase the genuine gelato (Italian ice cream) from Angelato’s of Belmont that skaters and skateboarders will be selling in The Marketplace, with proceeds benefiting renovations to the skate park at Haskell Field.
