Some Sudbury residents along with Town officials and employees have been working together on a new effort to reach out to military personnel and their families. In order to publicly acknowledge and thank our brave men and women who serve in the military, the Board of Selectmen approved hanging banners to welcome home those who have served.

In this picture Firefighter Mike Hamill and Building Inspector Jim Kelly work together to hang a banner at the Town Hall welcoming home 1st Lt. Billy Houpt. Billy is scheduled to arrive home in Sudbury on February 15th after completing his tour in Afghanistan.

This effort has been supported by Robin Gunderson from HOPE Sudbury; Patricia Houpt, mother of 1st Lt. William Houpt; Selectmen Chairman John Drobinski; Veteran’s Agent Brian Stearns; and Asst. Town Manager, Maryanne Bilodeau, along with many others.

Sudbury residents who have family members returning home after serving a tour should contact Brian Stearns at webmaster@sudbury.ma.us so that we may welcome them home.
