Property Exemption/Deferral Deadline May 3, 2010

As used in the context of property taxes an Exemption is a release from paying all or a portion of a tax assessed.  Property Exemptions are conferred by the State Legislature under Mass. General Laws, Chapter 59, Section 5.  Among the categories of individuals for whom exemptions are conferred: are Disabled Veterans with a wartime service connected disability of not less than 10%, applicants who are Blind, certain persons over the age of 65 with limited income and assets, cetain surviving spouses with limited assets .  As used in the context of Property Taxes a Deferral is a delay in paying property taxes.  For further information about any of the exemption or deferral programs currently in place, please contact our office either by phone 978-639-3395, or email at gerryc@sudbury.ma.us or by stopping in at the office.  We are located in the Flynn Building 278 Old Sudbury Rd.
