Meeting of the East Middlesex Mosquito Control Commission (EMMCC) to be held on Monday, June 11, 2018 at Newton City Hall, 1000 Commonwealth Ave, room 204 from 12:30 – 2:30.

 

AGENDA

 

  1. Approval of the 5/15/2018 meeting minutes by the Executive Committee.

 

  1. Project field updates. A) Spring helicopter application B) Catch Basin Program C) Aedes albopictus (surveillance, control, source reduction)

 

  1. Report by Doug Bidlack, Entomologist, on the 2017 mosquito populations, West Nile virus, EEE and current status of mosquito populations.

 

  1. Report by Mike Bryant, Assistant Superintendent, on the ditch maintenance program.

 

  1. Update on the arrangement with Suffolk County Mosquito Control including an update on the merger and status of two building leases.

 

  1. Review and discuss FY 19 budget.

 

  1. New Business

 

  1. Reorganization of the Executive Committee: The current members, who have one year remaining on their terms are Lenny Izzo from Wellesley (elected) and Rich Sullivan from Weston (alphabetical rotation). The two year terms (alphabetical rotation) of Deb Rosati from Watertown and Julia Junghanns from Wayland are ending. The next Commissioners to be appointed via the alphabetical rotation are Jennifer Murphy from Winchester and Natasha Waden from Arlington. The elected Executive Committee member whose two year term is expiring is Gerry Cody from Lexington.
