Spray Schedule for Week Beginning August, 19, 2019

The East Middlesex Mosquito Control Project is planning to use a truck mounted aerosol sprayer to apply Sumithrin in Burlington, Sudbury, North Reading and Framingham during the week beginning Monday, August 19, 2019. Spraying will be done between dusk and 11:30 PM.

On Monday, August 19, 2019, spraying is scheduled for areas of Burlington that are located in the vicinity of Hemlock Ln., B St., Victor Av., Old Colony Rd., Birch St., Colburn St., Glen Av., Mountain Rd. and Hampden Rd.
If spraying is postponed, it will be rescheduled for Tuesday, August 20, 2019.

On Tuesday, August 20, 2019, spraying is scheduled for areas of Sudbury that are located in the vicinity of Landham Rd., Woodside Rd., Raymond Rd., Nobscot Rd., Goodman’s Hill Rd., Old Lancaster Rd., Rice Rd., Horse Pond Rd., Codjer La. and Tall Pine Dr.
If spraying on Tuesday is postponed, it will be rescheduled for Wednesday, August 21, 2019.

On Wednesday, August 21, 2019, spraying is scheduled for areas of North Reading that are located in the vicinity of Turner Dr., Patriot Way, Abbott Rd., Greene St., Williams Rd. and streets off of Chestnut St.
If spraying on Wednesday is postponed, it will be rescheduled for Thursday, August 22, 2019.

On Thursday, August 22, 2019, spraying is scheduled for areas of Framingham that are located in the vicinity of Bishop St., Harrison St., Phelps Rd., Union Av., Maple St., Winter St. and Berkshire Rd.
If spraying on Thursday is postponed, it will be rescheduled for Monday, August 26, 2019.

The Project uses a spray formulation that contains the pesticide product, Anvil, to control mosquitoes. Anvil contains the pesticide, sumithrin, which is a pyrethroid that is classified as slightly toxic by the EPA. Mosquito control applications of sumithrin do not pose a significant risk to people or their pets due to the low toxicity of sumithrin and the small amount used to control mosquitoes. As with any pesticide, people should minimize their exposure. If residents see a spray truck approaching, they are advised to go indoors for a few minutes while the spray dissipates. Residents are also advised to close windows. Beekeepers do not need to take any special precautions since spraying begins after dusk.
