The Town of Sudbury seeks qualified and self-motivated applicants for the position of Building Inspector.

Minimum requirements: Certification as an Inspector of Buildings/Building Commissioner by the State Board of Building Regulations and Standards; high school education and five years experience in the supervision of building construction or design, or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or any equivalent combination of education and experience; valid driver’s license. Requires thorough working knowledge of the Massachusetts State Building Code, local zoning by-laws and other applicable state and/or local regulations; thorough understanding of the materials and methods of building construction; working knowledge of fire prevention, light, ventilation, electrical, heating, refrigeration and plumbing installations; ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and plans; expertise in field inspection practices; ability to enforce regulations firmly, tactfully and impartially; excellent communication, management and supervisory skills.
