Town of Sudbury was forced to shutdown its' email system when nine employees opened an email containing the "ILOVEYOU" Virus. The town's email is now functional but at least five new strains of the "ILOVEYOU" worm have been identified, including an especially nasty "Mother's Day" mutation.

When the employees opened the email it replicated itself sending infected emails to three hundred email addresses listed in the Town's Global Address Book and to anyone who was listed in the nine users Personal Contacts Book. The virus also corrupted all graphic and sound files on the user's computer and network drives. Anyone receiving any email from the Town of Sudbury with "ILOVEYOU" in the subject line should delete it immediately. DO NOT OPEN IT. If you have any questions or concerns about this email virus feel free to call Mark Thompson at 978-443-8891, x307.
