HOPEsudbury Honors Those Who Serve

HOPEsudbury (Humanitarian Outreach Project) will be hosting a community celebration to honor the members of the armed services, both veterans and current military personnel. It will take place at Sudbury Town Hall on Concord Rd on Saturday 5/15 from 12:00 noon to 5PM. Stop by with your families and help put together crafts that will be donated to the Bedford Veterans Home. There will also be collection box for paperback books, books on tape, new board games, playing cards, new jigsaw puzzles, writing paper, pens and stamps.

In addition, a collection will take place for care packages to be sent to military personnel based out of Hanscom Air Force Base and presently serving oversees. The items for the care packages will be sent in shoe boxed sized packages. Items needed are hard candy (no chocolate), chewing gum, beef jerky, baby wipes, playing cards, nuts, cookies, dry soup mix, drink mix, disposable razors, VCR or DVD movies, stationary, blank video and audio tapes, comic books, magazines, puzzle books, games, teas, deodorant (non-aerosol) batteries and greeting cards.

Donations can also be dropped off until May 14 in the HOPEsudbury donation box located on the second floor of the Flynn Building at 278 Old Sudbury Rd. For further information, call Jody Kablack at 978-443-0301.
