The US National Flag currently being flown in front of the Sudbury Town Hall was donated in memory of James W. St. Croix. Mr. St. Croix was a former Staff Sergeant and B-17 ariel gunner in the 341st Bombardment Squadron (Heavy) during WWII. SSG St. Croix served in Africa and was awarded the Ariel Gunners Badge, the Air Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the European African Middle Eastern Theater Medal with a Campaign Star for Rome Arno and the American Defense Service Medal with clasp. He was a Sudbury resident since 1952 until his passing in 2004. "Fly, Fight, Win."
