SMILE Playground Closed For Resurfacing Starting 5/4
CLOSURE UPDATES
5/15/26: The contractor is onsite today (Friday, 5/15/26) installing the top layer of the poured-in-place surface and will be working throughout the day. They will not be able to complete the project today, and will be back on Monday 5/18/26 to finish the work.
The newly installed poured-in-place surface will need 48 hours to cure and is unavailable for use at this time. The other side of the playground will be open for the weekend.
On Monday 5/18, we will need to close the playground again so the contractor can complete the work. Once the work is complete, the newly surfaced area will need to remain closed for another 48 hours.
The playground is expected to fully reopen next week. Our apologies for the delay and our thanks for your continued patience.
5/7/26: The Smile Playground repairs are now scheduled to be completed by May 15 due to a contractor delay. The playground will partially reopen from Friday, May 8 through Monday, May 11, closing again on Tuesday, May 12 when repair work resumes. During the temporary reopening, the area of the playground on the right-hand side as you enter will be roped off. The rest of the playground will be open for use.

The Smile Playground at Haskell Field will be closed for repairs during the week of May 4, 2026.
Please observe all posted signs and stay clear of the work area for safety.
