46th Running of the Sudbury July 4th Road Race

The 46th running of the Sudbury July 4th Road Race will take place on the morning of Sunday, July 4th.  The start and finish lines, and parking, will be at Upper Featherland Park (entrance ONLY from Morse Road), with overflow parking at Lower Featherland Park (off Concord Road).  There will be two races: the first for kids 9-13, with a start time of 9:00 AM; the second for runners 14 and older, starting at 9:30 AM.  The kids race is 1.5 miles long; the second race 3.8 miles.  Registration for both races begins at 8:00 AM; participants are urged to arrive well before race time.  Completing your form in advance (with an adult’s signature!) will save you time.  Registration fees: $10, kids 9-13; $15, 14 and older.  The first 300 runners to register will receive Technical T-shirts.  Traditionally out-of-town runners are welcome to run, but eligibility for all awards is restricted to Sudbury residents.

A waiver of liability is required of all runners, so a legal adult signature is as well.  No signature, no race.  If parents are unable to be at registration, they MUST complete and sign forms available at:  Sudbury Park & Recreation office, 40 Fairbank Road; Thunder Sporting Goods, 505 Boston Post Road (Shaw’s Plaza); Brine’s Sporting Goods, 615 Boston Post Road; and the Goodnow Library, 21 Concord Road.

The Sudbury July 4th Road Race is organized and run by a non-profit, all-volunteer group of Sudbury residents, and made possible in part by generous support from Middlesex Savings Bank, Graphic Connections, Sudbury Farms, Thunder Sporting Goods, American Speedy Printing, and Bullfinches Restaurant.  For more info call Bob Hall (978-443-8404)  or Graham Taylor (978-443-5024).
