On Thursday, July 4th, at 1:00 PM, Sudbury’s annual 4th of July parade will kick off.

Road Race

Beginning with the annual 4th of July Road Races, Concord Road will be closed between Morse Road and Plympton Road at the beginning of the race, which starts at 9:00 AM. The road will only be closed long enough to get the participants off of Concord Road onto the secondary streets. Expect delays in this area until the conclusion of the road race. Avoid this area of Concord Road if possible.

Parade

For the parade itself, participants will begin assembling at Chiswick Park off of Union Avenue at 12:00 PM. Beginning at 12:45 PM, just prior to the parade, the following roads will be closed:

  • Union Avenue will be closing at 12:45 (only parade participants will be allowed to enter)
  • Boston Post Road (Route 20) from Nobscot Road to Landham Road
  • Concord Road from Boston Post Road to Plympton Road
  • Route 27 from Water Row to Peakham Road

Anyone traveling through the area between 12:45 PM and 4:00 PM should expect extensive delays and/or seek an alternate route. The finish time may vary depending on the length of the parade. The roads will remain closed until participants have safely traversed the parade route. Detours will be set up to minimize the inconvenience to the public.
