We are excited to offer the unique opportunity to participate in our third annual Sudbury Police Youth Academy! Admission to the SPYA will be open to Sudbury residents who are currently in the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade as of January 1st 2025.

Admission will be granted on a first come-first serve basis with preference given to 8th grade applicants and then first time participants. There is no cost for the program, however applicants are expected to attend the entire weeks session. The SPYA is a 40 hour program (8:00am-4:00pm, Mon-Fri) with a graduation ceremony on Friday afternoon.

We are offering one session this summer starting Monday July 14th – Friday July 18th, 2025. For students who are accepted into the program, there will be a mandatory parent/guardian meeting held prior to the scheduled session. Parents/Guardians must attend the informational meeting in order for their children to participate.

The meeting will be held Wednesday June 11th at 6:00pm at the Sudbury Police Department (75 Hudson Road). This meeting will explain the program curriculum and youth academy rules, regulations and expectations. Your child will be challenged and pushed to problem solve, work with their classmates and learn the intricate details to modern policing.

All Participants are expected to attend the Academy in its entirety.  The Academy is no cost.  Any questions, feel free to contact Officer Kim Mangano: manganok@sudbury.ma.us
