VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENTS

The Sudbury Board of Selectmen is seeking community volunteers to fill vacancies in the following areas which are briefly outlined below. Interested residents are requested to download an application from the Town website front page: www.sudbury.ma.us.  Click on the “Volunteer and Job Opportunities” link to access the application which can be emailed to the Board of Selectmen at selectmen@sudbury.ma.us or faxed to (978) 443-0756.

Board of Appeals Associate/Earth Removal Board Members of this board sit, when individually called upon, as Alternates on the full Board of Appeals, which makes decisions on applications for variances and special permits under the Zoning Bylaw.  Members also serve as the Earth Removal Board, granting earth removal permits in accordance with Town Bylaw.  Desired qualifications include having resided in Sudbury for a period of time, having served on other Town board(s), and an interest in zoning.

Historic Districts CommissionMembership on this Commission is limited to five members who serve five-year terms.  The Commission acts on applications for Certificates of Appropriateness concerning architectural features, exterior color, and demolition of structures in any of Sudbury’s five Historic Districts.  Applicants should possess an interest in Sudbury’s homes and buildings and some knowledge/expertise concerning architectural features.

Memorial Day Committee – Members of this informal Selectmen’s committee is limited to seven members who serve three-year terms.  The Committee is charged with investigating and planning the organization and conduct of appropriate Memorial Day activities for Sudbury residents.  The Committee currently seeks to fill two vacancies.
