Proclamation: Be Like Zach Day
PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS: Zach Wall was a beloved member of the Sudbury community whose life reflected kindness, empathy, and a deep commitment to caring for others; and
WHEREAS: although Zach passed away from cancer at the age of 16, his legacy continues to inspire individuals and communities through the principles known as his Rules for Life; and
WHEREAS: May 3, Zach’s birthday, serves as a meaningful opportunity to honor his life and legacy; and
WHEREAS: these values — including compassion, generosity, resilience, and choosing to do good for others — strengthen families, schools, and the broader community; and
WHEREAS: the nonprofit organization Zach’s Bridge was established in Zach’s memory to support families facing childhood cancer and to inspire others to lead with empathy, connection, and service; and
WHEREAS: “Be Like Zach Day” encourages individuals of all ages to honor Zach’s legacy by performing acts of kindness and service in their daily lives;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
that I, Lisa V. Kouchakdjian, Chair of the Select Board, on behalf of the Town of Sudbury, do hereby proclaim May 3 as “Be Like Zach Day” in Sudbury, and encourage all residents to observe this day by performing acts of kindness, generosity and compassion in honor of Zach Wall.
