The Town of SudburCC-Report-a-Problem-359y has partnered with SeeClickFix to announce a new platform called “Sudbury Connect” that will help Sudbury residents and visitors report issues they encounter in their neighborhood or on Town roads quickly and easily.

After downloading the free SeeClickFix mobile app and web tools or using the Town website or Facebook page, users of the feature will now be able to provide Town staff with pictures, videos and specific descriptions of issues they encounter in Sudbury. Providing this valuable information will enable staff to fix reported issues as efficiently as possible. In addition, the SeeClickFix platform provides Town officials with a centralized issue management system, which engages residents throughout the process, providing updates from initiation to completion.

“We’re excited to offer this great service to our residents, which will simplify the process of notifying the Town when and where an issue arises, and ultimately, getting problems addressed,” Town Manager Melissa Murphy Rodrigues said of the Sudbury Connect platform.

This partnership not only allows Sudbury citizens to report problems, but also to view, comment on, and vote on problems submitted by their neighbors. Citizens can even create their own “watch areas” to receive notifications about all the issues reported in their community, enabling them to follow the progress of all service requests — not just the ones they report.

During Sudbury’s pilot year using the new platform, funding was provided through a grant from the Community Innovation Challenge (CIC), which sponsored the Commonwealth Citizens Connect project. There are currently 50 partners on the Commonwealth Connect app with SeeClickFix in Massachusetts.

The Sudbury Connect mobile app is available for download on Android: (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.seeclickfix.ma.android) and iPhone: (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/seeclickfix/id322000552?mt=8). In addition to the mobile apps, citizens can send report problems via the Town website:(https://sudbury.ma.us/sudburyconnect/) and Facebook page: (https://www.facebook.com/TownofSudbury/app/262068025113/).

About SeeClickFix
SeeClickFix was founded in 2008 to empower citizens with tools to publicly document quality of life concerns in their neighborhoods. By radically improving the quantity and quality of this data, SeeClickFix was quickly adopted by local governments, who needed a better way to receive information from citizens.

This exchange helped to build one of the largest neighborhood networks in the world — upon which public agencies and public citizens engage to improve communities. Today, SeeClickFix has official partnerships with hundreds of cities, engaging hundreds of thousands of citizens in the resolution of millions of issues.

SeeClickFix has worked with government partners to develop municipal management tools on top of this citizen network. As SeeClickFix is adopted into the everyday lives of government users, the benefit of the engaged citizen base continues to grow.
