The Board of Selectmen has established a new committee as a mechanism for thoughtful and public examination of the issues surrounding property tax fairness in the Town of Sudbury. Click here to see the mission statement, responsibilities, and timetable for the PTERC.

The Board will be interviewing applicants for the new committee at a special meeting 7:00 pm on June 9, 2003 at the Town Hall. Applications for the PTERC are due to the Board of Selectmen by June 4. Click here for an application form.

In making appointments to the PTERC, the Board of Selectmen will be striving to assemble a committee that is balanced as far as age, length of residency in the town, previous association on town committees, etc. And they will be looking for candidates who have the determination to be open-minded and hard working. Finally, they will be looking for candidates who are not already espousing any particular outcome, but rather are committed to a fair and public review process.

All meetings of the PTERC will be open to the public and notices of the meetings will be posted on the Town’s website ( www.town.sudbury.ma.us ) and at the Town Clerk’s office. Minutes of the meetings will be posted in the same locations
