The Town of Sudbury announces the renewal of its Sudbury Community Electricity Aggregation (CEA) program, with new prices for the period December 2025 until December 2029. Sudbury CEA is a group purchasing program, operated by the Town since 2017, which provides electricity supply options to help residents and businesses manage costs and increase renewable energy use.

The Town is excited that it has secured lower prices for all supply options! Current participants do not need to take any action to remain in the Sudbury CEA program and receive the new pricing.

All new Sudbury CEA prices will be fixed for 48 months, beginning December 2025 until December 2029. The Sudbury CEA program will be served by our supplier, Dynegy:

Learn more about our options at Sudbury-CEA.com.

The majority of accounts in Town use the Sudbury Standard option. You may switch to another Sudbury CEA option at any time. To switch options, call our program’s electricity supplier, Dynegy, at (866) 220-5696, or submit a request at Sudbury-CEA.com.

No action is necessary to receive the new pricing for your current Sudbury supply option. To check what Sudbury CEA supply option you currently use, you can review the Supply section of your Eversource electricity bill. If you participate in the program, your current supply rate will appear as one of the “Old Prices” of products listed in the table above.

New prices take effect on your December 2025 meter read. The first bill to show the new Sudbury CEA pricing will be the bill you receive showing usage from your December 2025 meter read to January 2026 meter read. Most customers can expect to receive this bill in January 2026.

The Town’s program launched in 2017, providing multiple contract terms of price stability. Most participants use the Sudbury Standard product, which has saved participants a total of $9.2 million or about $1,660 for the typical residential customer since launch. Both the Sudbury Standard and Sudbury Plus products provide 100% renewable energy; Sudbury Standard includes an additional 37% of National Wind energy while Sudbury Plus includes an additional 37% of MA Class I sources. Town-wide, our program has had a major environmental impact, purchasing 28,230 megawatt hours (MWh) annually, which avoids over 20 million pounds of carbon pollution each year.

As a reminder, Sudbury CEA prices only apply to the Supply portion of your electric bill and take effect on your meter read date. Eversource will continue to set the charges on the Delivery on your electric bill and will repair outages and manage all billing. Sudbury CEA has no impact on any solar benefits, low-income discounts, or budget billing plans.

If you are not currently participating in Sudbury CEA, you can join any time. To join, submit a request at Sudbury-CEA.com.

Sudbury CEA participants may leave the Program at any time, without penalty and return to Basic Service supply with Eversource. To leave the Program, call Eversource at (800) 592-2000, or submit a request at Sudbury-CEA.com.
