Rate Increase Notice

As the result of a regulatory event, in this case the finalization of the Clean Energy Standard Expansion (CES-E), which requires retail suppliers to annually demonstrate the use of clean energy to generate a specified percentage of their electricity sales, the Town of Sudbury’s current aggregation rates will be increasing by $0.00083/kWh effective with the March 2021 meter read.

The new price will remain fixed through December 2023. NextEra, the supplier for the aggregation program, will be sending an explanatory letter of the price change to all customers participating in the Program.

How Does the New Price Compare?

The new price represents an increase of approximately $0.50 per month for residential customers purchasing default service – Sudbury All Green – and using an average of 600 kWh per month. The current and new prices for each of the products offered through Sudbury CEA are shown below:

The Program can not guarantee savings compared to the Eversource Basic Service rates, as the Basic Service rates change every 6 months for residential and small commercial customers and every 3 months for large commercial and industrial customers. Products described as Green contain renewable electricity above that required by state law. Local refers to New England.
