According to the Fire Safety Research Institute (FSRI), fires involving various lithium-ion battery-powered products have been increasing at an alarming rate in recent years and have resulted in numerous injuries and fatalities. These fires are fast โ€“ so fast that you may only have seconds (not minutes) to escape.

Lithium-ion battery-powered devices can be found in the home and workplace in many common products such as:

  • cell phones
  • laptops
  • electric power tools
  • wheelchairs
  • lawn mowers
  • e-bikes
  • e-scooters
  • electric vehicles
