Board of Health Recommends Outdoor Halloween Activities End by Dusk
Tuesday October 15th, the Sudbury Board of Health voted to advise residents to continue following Massachusetts Department of Public Health guidelines to reduce the risk of Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) and West Nile Virus, including restricting outdoor activities after dusk. Sudbury’s EEE’s risk will remain at critical level until a hard freeze, which is below 28°F for a few hours. Although our nights are getting colder, it is not expected that we will reach a hard freeze before Oct. 31st. The Board of Health recommends that outdoor activities, including Halloween, be completed by 6 PM. Residents might expect to see trick or treaters a little earlier this year.
