The Sudbury Housing Trust purchased the parcel at 278 Maynard Road and has carefully developed its current design, with the input of the neighborhood along the way. The plans are finally together, and the ground breaking was completed on July 7^th.

The design includes two structures – a duplex and a single family home, both very modest in size. The Trust has partnered with Transformations Inc, (http://transformations-inc.com/) an award-winning designer and builder of energy efficient homes. Sudbury is actively responding to the shortage of affordable housing. The Sudbury Housing Trust, formed in 2006, will have created 13 affordable homes including these units.

The Sudbury Housing Trust is currently marketing these units, and they will be sold through an affordable housing lottery to income-eligible households. The purpose of the Sudbury Housing Trust is to provide for the creation and preservation of affordable housing in the Town of Sudbury for the benefit of low and moderate income households.

The Trust implements the recommendations set forth in the Sudbury Community Housing Plan to the purpose of aiding the Town of Sudbury, private enterprises and non-profit organizations, and other public agencies in the speedy and orderly acquisition, rehabilitation, renovation, construction, financing or refinancing of property within the Town of Sudbury so that such property will be substantially available as residential property for low and moderate income persons and to further provide mechanisms to ensure such use.
