The Sudbury Housing Trust is now accepting applications for the Small Grants program. This program is designed to provide financial assistance to moderate income Sudbury residents to make repairs and alterations to their homes for health and safety reasons. Some potentially eligible repairs are minor plumbing or electrical work, window or door repair, weather stripping, and much more.

To be eligible, you must live in Sudbury, and the home must be your primary residence. Your household income cannot be higher than the median area income in this area (for this funding round a household of 4 cannot exceed $98,500). Your home’s assessed value must be lower than the median assessed value (for this funding round must be assessed below $600,100) and you must let the Sudbury Housing Trust know before you list your house for sale. The grants do not have to be repaid if you stay in Sudbury for at least the next 12 months.

If you believe you meet each of the five criteria, pick up an application today. The Small Grant Program Application is designed to be quick and simple, with grants awarded up to $5,000 with no obligation to repay. Applications can be found online at the Town of Sudbury website, www.sudbury.ma.us, by clicking here or at the Planning and Community Development office or Senior Center. Applications can be submitted through September 30, 2014 for grants awarded in November.

The program has assisted over 60 homes throughout Sudbury to date. Contact Liz Rust, Program Administrator, at 978-287-1090 or rustb@sudbury.ma.us for more information and see how you can benefit from this program.
