Light Equipment Operator – DPW

The Town of Sudbury Department of Public Works (DPW) provides vital services to the community, and we are seeking a new member of our team! As a full-time Light Equipment Operator, you will perform varied and important work, such as driving/operating vehicles and equipment engaged in DPW construction, maintenance, snow removal, and other projects /activities, and repairing and constructing streets, sidewalks, signs, fences, manholes, drains, and other public facilities. The starting pay rate for this position is $25.97/hour (see union contract for full salary schedule), plus excellent benefits, including health, dental, life and disability insurance, flexible spending accounts, a pension and optional retirement savings accounts.
To succeed in this position, you must be a team player, ready to learn, willing to work primarily outdoors in a variety of weather conditions (uniforms/clothing allowance provided) and during storms/emergency operations (additional overtime and meal allowance provided). You will need to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License within 6 months of hire if you do not already have a CDL (training and class provided).
Criminal and motor vehicle record checks, a physical exam and a drug screen will be required prior to hire. Random drug and alcohol testing is a condition of employment.
