The National Weather Service (NWS) is forecasting extreme cold across the region this weekend. An arctic air mass will bring potentially life threatening will chills and near record cold temperatures Saturday and Sunday.  The cold temperatures combined with gusty winds will make for dangerously low wind chill values.  Snow will begin this evening and continue into early Saturday.  The snow will fall along the south coast of Bristol and Plymouth Counties, but mainly affect Cape Cod and the Islands.  The highest totals (1-4 inches) are expected over Nantucket and the outer arm of Cape Cod. Please see attached document from for winter weather precautions.
