New Sudbury Park and Recreation Director Appointed

Town Manager Melissa Murphy-Rodrigues announced the appointment of new a Park and Recreation Director this week.

The new director Kayla McNamara joined the Sudbury team after serving as the Assistant Director of Recreation for the Town of Westborough and as the Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Fitchburg.

McNamara, who has a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Sport Management and is currently finishing her Graduate certificate in Athletic Administration, prides herself on her ability to create and expand programming, partner with organizations and work collaboratively with staff as well as Park and Recreation Commissioners.

McNamara, who lives in Fitchburg, has been involved in sports and recreation her entire life, and continues to coach and play field hockey.

“I’m very excited to welcome Kayla to Sudbury,” Melissa Murphy-Rodrigues said. “She brings a great skill set and a lot of energy to the community and I know she’s going to do great things for residents.”
