Town Meeting Petition Forms

Voters may place (an) article(s) on a Town Meeting warrant by submitting a petition to the Select Board’s Office. There are three petition forms available – please select the one that corresponds to the type of Town Meeting warrant in which you wish to have your article included:

 

ANNUAL TOWN MEETING (ATM)

To have a petition article added to the Annual Town Meeting warrant, a petitioner needs to collect 10 signatures.

Annual Town Meeting begins on the first Monday in May. The warrant typically opens in December of the previous year and closes on January 31. (Petition articles are accepted while the warrant is open.)

SPECIAL TOWN MEETING (STM) – When Already Called

To have a petition article added to a Special Town Meeting warrant, which has already been opened, a petitioner needs to collect 100 signatures.

SPECIAL TOWN MEETING (STM-C) – Petition to Call Town Meeting

To call a Special Town Meeting, a petitioner needs to collect 200 signatures.
