Sherman’s Bridge Project

Sherman’s Bridge is a key link between Sudbury and Wayland, carrying Sherman’s Bridge Road (Wayland side of the bridge) across the Sudbury River near Lincoln Road (Sudbury side of the bridge). While the bridge remains safe for travel, MassDOT has cited the need for significant structural repairs to keep it open. The agency requires the use of a glulam (or equal) deck system and recent inspection reports have noted severe and critical repairs are needed—rated as high priority. Read full article

Bruce Freeman Rail Trail Sudbury Information

USE AT YOUR OWN RISK: The recently constructed portion of the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail in Sudbury is now open for public use but “at your own risk”. The Town is waiting for the State to finalize the current contract and transfer responsibility for maintenance of the trail over to the Town, which is expected in September 2025. Please stay tuned for periodic updates – a GRAND OPENING is expected later this summer or early fall. Read full article
