Sudbury Community Gardens Information

This is an invitation for gardeners who would like to grow vegetables and flowers this summer in a sunny location with rich soil – Sudbury’s Lincoln Meadows. Garden plots at Lincoln Meadows, located on Lincoln Road, Sudbury, at the base of the Sudbury Valley Trustees’ scenic Round Hill are available through the Sudbury Conservation Commission. Non-residents may also rent plots.

This year we have 30’ x 30’ plot available for $30.00 and half plots available for $20.00, to cover plowing, manure, staking and other incidental expenses. Plots for organic gardening are available. Plots are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, with preference given to returning gardeners.

Plots are available for non-Sudbury residents and are assigned to non-residents based on availability with Sudbury residents having priority. Besides keeping up the maintenance of their garden, each gardener is expected to contribute time to the upkeep of the shared garden area. While no specific time requirement has been set, gardeners should expect to contribute 2-4 hours per season.

There is plenty of off-road parking for gardeners by the entry through the gate next to the small Lincoln Meadows parking lot. A kiosk with a posted plot map provides guidance to the area and a hand pump provides water into early summer.

Garden plots are open to planting once the field is plowed and the plots staked and numbered. The fields are generally ready by mid to late May, weather permitting. A complete list of garden rules and regulations can be found here. You may register on-line using this link. Gardeners can pay through Venmo to Sydney-McGrath or also mail a check made out to the Sudbury Community Gardens, to Sydney McGrath at 181 Pratts Mill Road, Sudbury, MA  01776.
