On Friday, May 18th, the Sudbury Fire Department teamed up with the Sudbury Police Department and the LSRHS Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) team to stage a Mock Crash demonstration in front of the high school.  The intent of the drill is to show students the impact and repercussions of wrong decisions about controlled substances.

During the demonstration, a simulated car accident involving students occurs.  Sudbury Fire and Police arrive on the scene of the two-car accident. The driver of the vehicle that caused the accident is impaired by a controlled substance. Two victims are trapped in the other car. Using the Jaws of Life, firefighters extricate the trapped victims, one of which does not survive. Duckett Funeral Home arrives and firefighters remove the body and place it into the hearse. Sudbury Police then arrest the impaired driver.

Special thanks to Sudbury SADD and the faculty of LSRHS for arranging such a dramatic and educational event.
