The Town of Sudbury is seeking highly responsible candidates for the position of FF/EMT-P.

Minimum qualifications: current MA EMT-P certification and current driver’s license, Non-Smoker. Starting Salary Range: $28.01 to $28.58 per hour (plus fringe benefits and other applicable incentives).

All applicants are required to complete the Town of Sudbury application form. Applications, including resumes should be sent to Fire Chief John Whalen at fire@sudbury.ma.us

Resumes may be attached as a Word or pdf document as additional information but cannot serve as a substitute for completing the application form. Candidates should not attach copies of their certifications, licenses, diplomas, etc.; however, a summarized list may be provided.

Applications must be received by 2:00pm on February 15, 2019. The Town reserves the right to modify the application deadline to best serve the interest of the community.

All applications will be reviewed and the most highly qualified candidates will be invited to participate in one or more assessments, as well as multiple interviews. Specific details regarding assessments will be communicated to qualified candidates as the process proceeds.

Employment will be contingent upon the satisfactory results of a number of pre-placement conditions including:

-Thorough background investigation, including motor vehicle, and CORI

-Pre-employment physical examination

-Drug-screening test

-Psychological screening

-Physical Abilities Test (PAT) to test the strength and agility required (consisting of seven stations)

As a condition of employment, successful candidates must remain a non-smoker and comply with any residency requirements as outlined by state law and/or the Town’s collective bargaining agreement.

Successful candidates must attend and successfully complete the full-time recruit program at the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy prior to the conclusion of their probationary period.
