The Sudbury Fire Department regrets to announce the passing of Firefighter/EMT John Patrick Hanley on Monday, October 27, 2008.  Pat was a 30 year veteran of the fire service, starting first in Sudbury in 1978, moving to the Framingham Fire Department in 1981, and returning to Sudbury in 1983 where he remained for the rest of his career.  Pat suffered for several years with cancer, but his many friends, supportive family, and strong desire to return to work sustained him even while his disease refused to abate.   All are saddened by this loss, especially those who knew the richness with which Pat embraced life.
