Planning Board completes Draft Master Plan
After 16 months of study, data collection and identification of issues, the Sudbury Planning Board has released the Draft Master Plan, entitled SUSTAINABLE SUDBURY. Compiled largely from existing reports of the Strategic Planning Committee and the identified goals of most major town boards, the Master Plan presents a broad picture for Sudbury’s future.
Its six specific chapters present data and recommendations on land use, economic development, natural and cultural resources, housing, transportation and community services and facilities. Strategies to accomplish the goals of the Master Plan include policy development and affirmation, zoning changes, funding or further study. Many boards and committees will be involved in its implementation.
Copies of the Plan are available in most municipal buildings, including the Planning Board office. The Planning Board will accept written comments; email comments to the Planning Board; or verbal comments at a public hearing scheduled for Wednesday, November 17, 1999 at 7:30 pm at the Goodnow Library.
The final plan, due in late November, will reflect public comments as well as survey responses from the Master Plan survey. Click Here To Download the Master Plan. This Plan is 105 pages, so be patient for downloading.
