Paper copies of the document will also be available at locations throughout town after March 1st. Look for it at the Goodnow Library, Clerk’s Office, Flynn Building, Loring Parsonage and at the Planning Board Office.

The changes to the bylaw have been proposed as a collaborative effort of the major permitting boards in Sudbury, including the Board of Selectmen, Planning Board, Zoning Board of Appeals and Design Review Board. The focus of the project was to update the provisions in compliance with state law and court cases, remove redundancies in the provisions and make the document more useable to the general public.

Changes made to the provisions of the bylaw fall into 4 general categories: NO CHANGE; VERY MINOR CHANGES, including correction of typographical, grammatical and punctuation errors, removal of redundancies (such as referencing state law) and reorganization and/or rewording of provisions with no change in intent; MINOR CHANGES RECOMMENDED BY THE REVIEW COMMITTEE TO IMPROVE THE DOCUMENT, including clarification of provisions, minor changes to the intent, or complete rewording; and MAJOR CHANGES, including the addition of new provisions. A reference chart has been compiled showing a comparison between the existing bylaw provisions, and the proposed text. To view the reference chart Click Here.

The Planning Board will be holding the statutory public hearing on the document on Thursday, February 15, 2001 at 8:00 pm at Town Hall. All interested residents are urged to attend.
