Dear Neighbors,

Thank you for your continued patience over the last five days. This has been a major public safety event for our community, and it will take some time for all of our operations to get back to normal procedures.

Currently, we still have contractors from MEMA in town at the direction of the Lt. Governor to assist DPW in debris clean up. We have requested additional assistance and are waiting to hear back on that request. The Town is dedicated to helping residents with this debris. Please recognize that completion of this task will take many weeks. We are asking residents to pull debris to a point four to ten feet from the side of the road by Friday, March 16, 2018.

The anticipated snow event tomorrow will bring new challenges. As of 7 AM this morning, the forecast still contained uncertainty, but it is likely that Massachusetts will be impacted by a significant storm tonight into Tuesday evening with the potential for blizzard- like conditions and snowfall rates of 1-3 inches per hour. We are asking residents to avoid travel if possible. There are still hazards on the side of the road and the potential for additional damage due to the high winds and snow weight. The snow is expected to come down very quickly and travel could be impossible at times.

Both the Board of Selectmen and I are proud of the Town’s response after the past days.

We would like to recognize the Department of Public Works, the Police Department, the Fire Department, 911, the Building Department, the Board of Health, CERT, the Goodnow Library, Lincoln Sudbury Regional High School, the Fairbank Center, and the many other Town employees and volunteers for their incredible work and support. Our thanks will never be enough to recognize the commitment you have shown to our community this week, and we are honored to be a part of your team.

Sincerely,
Melissa Rodrigues, Esq.
