Several Town Offices Following Summer Schedule

Starting July 12 through August 27, 2021, some Town offices will be following a four day (Monday – Thursday) summer schedule. Friday, July 16 will be the first Friday that offices are closed. Employees will work the same number of hours each week by working extended hours Monday through Thursday.

Re-Opening to the Public
While Sudbury Town buildings are currently closed to the public as a measure to limit the spread of COVID-19, starting on June 14 and through July 2, public access will be available by appointment. Full public access to Town buildings is planned to begin on Tuesday, July 6, 2021.

Summer Schedule Hours
The revised summer schedule will begin Monday, July 12, 2021, and will affect offices in Town Hall and the Flynn Building. Offices in these two buildings will be closed on Fridays from July 16^th through August 27^th, with the exception of the Select Board/Town Manager’s Office and IT Department, which will observe their regular Monday – Friday schedule. Offices will be open to serve the public with extended hours as follows:

Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Friday closed

The following Town departments will be following this compressed schedule:

Assessor
Human Resources
Planning and Community Development
Tax Collector/Treasurer
Town Accountant
Town Clerk
Veterans’ Services (please check website for office hours)

The following offices will NOT be observing the summer schedule and will be operating on regular hours: Atkinson Pool, Building Department, Conservation, Council on Aging, Engineering, Fire Department, Goodnow Library, Health Department, Highway Department, Information Systems, Police Department, Public Works, Recreation Department and Select Board/Town Manager’s Office.

All offices will return to their regular Monday – Friday schedule beginning Monday, August 30^th.

The Select Board consists of five members – each elected for a three-year term. They serve without compensation. The Select Board acts as the primary policy-making body of the Town. They provide oversight for matters in litigation, act as the licensing authority for a wide variety of licenses, and enact rules and regulations for such matters as traffic control. Further, the Board serves, along with the Town Treasurer, as Trustees of Town Trusts. Staff in the Select Board’s Office accept articles for Town Meeting, prepare Town Meeting Warrants and produce the Town’s Annual Report. Staff also serve as liaison between the public and the Board, handle all phone calls, visitors and correspondence directed to the Office and maintain all records of Select Board meetings. They also maintain the database of all Boards and Committees appointments and resignations.
