It is with great regret that the Sudbury Town Manager and Board of Selectmen announce the retirement of Police Chief Peter F. Fadgen, effective March 8, 2009.   He will leave Sudbury after more than 26 years of dedicated service to the community — the last five years as Chief.

Human Resources Director, Wayne Walker, is developing plans for the appointment of an interim Chief of Police, who will assume these responsibilities in early March.

Chief Fadgen stated, “It is with mixed emotions that I have decided to retire from the Town after 26 years of service.  I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Town Manager for appointing me Chief of Police five years ago and my appreciation to the Board of Selectmen for their unwavering support during my tenure.  I will be leaving my position content in the knowledge that the Police Department is staffed with very capable professionals, dedicated in their efforts to serve and protect the citizens of Sudbury.”
