Interested in running for a town office or school committee seat?

The League of Women Voters of Sudbury, in cooperation with Town Clerk Rosemary Harvell, will hold a How to Run for Office workshop Wednesday, Jan. 3, at 7 p.m. in Town Hall (snow date Jan. 4).

Harvell will outline the requirements and deadlines for running in Sudbury’s town election, scheduled for Monday, March 26.

Jason Tait, communications director for the Office of Campaign and Political Finance, will discuss the state’s financial filing requirements. The Office of Campaign and Political Finance is an independent state agency that administers the state’s campaign finance law. Established in 1973, OCPF is the depository for disclosure reports filed by candidates and political committees.

Anyone interested in running for local office this year or in the future, as well as campaign managers and treasurers, along with anyone who just wants to know more about the process, is encouraged to attend. The workshop is free and open to the public.

The League of Women Voters of Sudbury will hold its annual Candidates’ Night for those running in the spring election on Monday, March 5, at 7:30 p.m. at Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School.
