On Wednesday, November 5th, a random phone survey will begin to gather information on how Sudbury residents currently manage their trash disposal and recycling, how they feel about how well it is working and their preferences regarding possible future options.

Matt Zettek, a consultant working with Merritt Communications, Inc., will be making these calls, to randomly selected households in all five precincts of Town, between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. on weekdays and between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday. The survey has been designed to require ten minutes or less of each willing respondent’s time.

Merritt Communications, Inc. has been hired by the Town to undertake a comprehensive analysis of all waste management and recycling activities currently in place, as well as to create a comprehensive financial model to assess the financial implications of potential changes in the current system.

Information gleaned from these brief telephone interviews will be incorporated into a summary report of all analytic activities and help determine areas where public education and outreach may be required.
