From now until 12:00 pm on June 15th, you can cast your vote for  your favorite photograph submitted to the Town of Sudbury Photography Contest. To vote and view photos submitted, visit the Town website at http://sudbury.ma.us/services/pcd. Please one vote per person!

Cast a vote in each of the three categories: Grades K-5, Grades 6-12 and Adults 19 and above. A final panel will judge the overall top photo. Photos will be judged on how well the subject matter interprets and conveys Sudbury’s unique character, as well as the overall technical quality of the image.

Photos will be displayed and prizes will be awarded at Gallery Night, to be held June 25th 7-9 pm at the Goodnow Public Library located at 21 Concord Road.  The public is invited to attend this event!  To view the winners’ list and their photos visit the Town website. Winners will be posted by June 22, 2007.

Town of Sudbury residents, Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation and Freedoms Way Heritage Association have recently completed the Sudbury Heritage Landscapes Reconnaissance Report. This report contains a description of the landscapes identified by Sudbury residents as being significant for their contribution to the character of the town. These are the Heritage Landscapes that reflect the relationship between human culture and history, and the natural ecology that influenced land use and development of an area. The  Heritage Landscape Inventory Report and map of the Heritage Landscape Inventory Program: Open Space and Historical Resources can be viewed on line. A hard copy can be viewed at the Goodnow Library Reference desk.

To promote awareness of these places, the Sudbury Planning and Community Development Department and the Conservation Commission sponsored this photography contest to further engage residents to identify these special places and spaces that define the character of the community and make the Town of Sudbury unique and special.
