Bid documents for the historic Town Center intersection have been released, with bid openings scheduled for August 29, 2014, 10:00 am at the DPW facility. Once all bids are reviewed, a contract will be awarded shortly thereafter. While the bids are out the Town has been proceeding with a number of other activities in the center. DPW has recently completed the stone walls that delineate the intersection, and is currently constructing a stormwater detention basin at the new extension to Grinnell Park. The Town anticipates contracting with Sudbury Design Group to complete a landscape plan for the project area in the next few weeks, elements of which will create a welcoming environment in the Town Center for pedestrians and residents. Creation of the landscape plan will include public input with meetings occurring this fall.

The new intersection will accommodate the traffic in this very busy area for another 50 years or more, and will make the Town Center historic area much safer and more pleasant to visit. The construction schedule will be finalized once the contract is awarded. The entire project is anticipated to take approximately 12 months to complete.
