- The Attorney General’s Consumer Hotline – Call (617) 727-8400 or TTY: (617) 727-4765. Monday-Friday, 8am – 4pm.When one calls, there will be a prompt to enter one’s ZIP code. If the lines are busy, one can either call back later or request a call back from the office. Calls made after 2pm can expect a returned call the following business day.
- Note: Depending on the kind of ID theft, there are two paths this process can take. For one involved in a scam, the Hotline can be used to file a complaint which the Office will then investigate. Someone at the Hotline can assist in the filing process. In cases of compromised information, one will be redirected to the FTC website.
