Thanksgiving Planning*

November is just around the corner, and with it Thanksgiving. Our special Thanksgiving dinner will happen one week before the big day: on Thursday, November 15, at our Concord location, First Parish. To reserve a seat (and so we have a headcount for the event), email concorddinner@opentable.org

Our schedule for the week of Thanksgiving will be:

  • Monday, November 19: Pantry is CLOSED.
  • Tuesday, November 20: Senior pantry 12:45-3 pm, all others 3-6 pm to pick up holiday items.
  • Thursday, November 22: We are CLOSED.

Our turkey distribution days are Thursday, November 15 and Tuesday, November 20. On those days, guests may choose to pick up a turkey (and a bag with stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce and root vegetables) and not shop that day; they may pickup the turkey and fixings and shop at their regular appointment time that day; or not pick up a turkey but shop that day at their regular appointment time.

It’s multiple choice with no wrong answer!

Thanksgiving Turkey & Stuffing Donation Request*

Our freezer space is limited and we want to offer 100+ families a turkey, stuffing and all the fixins’ for a Thanksgiving meal! Two organizations (Cambridge Trust and Imprimativa) have generously committed to providing 50 turkeys.

Can you help?

We are seeking 50 more turkeys to distribute to guests on Thursday, November 15 and Tuesday, November 20.

If you can provide a frozen 10-15 lb. turkey plus a bag of bread stuffing, we will happily accept your donation in Maynard on these days:

  • Wednesday, November 14, 10AM-4PM
  • Thursday, November 15, 10AM until NOON
  • Monday, November 19, 10AM-4PM
  • Tuesday, November 20 – 10AM until NOON

If you can help, please send an email to pantrydirector@opentable.org with your name, #of turkeys & stuffing and the day/time you can drop them off.

We already have 75 families who want a turkey; more will be signing up. Our guests will be able to shop for Thanksgiving fixins’ in our market so, with your help, they will have a holiday table filled with turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, roasted root veggies, and more. Mmmm!

Turkey Trot*

Before you sit down to that turkey dinner, why not pre-spend your calories with a quick trot around the block? The Turkey Trot is a 5K run around Concord’s MinuteMan Park.

This family friendly event, along with the Acton Turkey Trot the following day, attract over 1,000 runners combined. A portion of both these events benefit Open Table, Acton food Pantry, and area local youth running programs. Come on out with a super-fun attitude and your running shoes! Costumes are encouraged! Walkers welcome!

The 5K Race, which starts at 8:30 AM sharp, starts and finishes at the Keyes Road parking lot in Concord Center. The top-3 overall will win medals as well as the top-3 in 9 age groups from 12 & Under to 70+.

Participants who pre-register are guaranteed to receive an event T-shirt. Pre-registration is $30 and is available online or by mail (see the event website for details). There is a cap of 1500 entrants, so register early.

Participants are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to support the Open Table pantry.
