Sudbury and Wayland officials have decided to not repeat the trial combination of the two town's transfer stations planned for Saturday, December 18, and instead each town's transfer station will be open at the regular hours.

Transfer station staff found that the demand on the Wayland transfer station during peak hours last Saturday caused delays of up to 15 minutes for users, and at times there were traffic problems on Route 20.  The traffic counts and other information gained from the trial will be studied over the next few weeks to determine what kinds of changes can be made to reduce these undesirable outcomes. We will likely be holding the second trial date in January after we have determined what improvements might be warranted.
