The Sudbury Transfer Station “Put & Take” is currently under construction and will reopen for the season on Saturday, May 25th. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

The new Put & Take building is a construction project of the Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School Carpentry program. Thank you to the “Valley” carpentry students for their excellent work!

The Put & Take hours are 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Any items brought to the Put & Take must be in clean and reusable condition. Items not accepted: bedding, upholstered furniture, televisions or computers. If you have any questions, please call 978-440-5421.

The Sudbury Department of Public Works operates a secure, safe and environmentally friendly Transfer Facility for the residents of Sudbury to properly dispose of and/or recycle common household items and limited hazardous waste.

The station provides excellent recycling opportunities in which residents can exercise environmental stewardship of resources and help reduce the bulk amount of trash.

Items that can be recycled include newspapers, mixed paper, cardboard, glass, aluminum cans, plastic, automobile batteries, used motor oil and scrap metal. Careful recycling is the best way to keep the price of your sticker at the current rate.

Per the vote of the Board of Selectmen, the costs of operating the Transfer Station are covered through a Pay-As-You-Throw pricing mechanism.

Other materials that you may have (such as carpeting, furniture, building debris, tires, and refrigerators) require a special fee payable at the Transfer Station (Transfer Station Fees chart). Payment can be made at the shed located at the Entrance to the Transfer Station/Recycle Center. No contractors or businesses allowed. This service is for residents only.
