Melone Gravel Pit Property Reuse Planning

The Melone property is a 46.6 acre parcel located on Route 117, North Road, of which 16.4 acres of the property are located in the Town of Concord. The Town purchased this property in 1992 and has operated a gravel operation on the parcel since the 1990s. Estimates from the Department of Public Works indicate that nearly all the gravel has been removed from the parcel.

A Request for Proposals (RFP) for disposition of the land was issued in March 2018. The proposals received in response to the RFP were evaluated by the Board of Selectmen, and the Quarry North proposal was ranked as the most advantageous for the Town. A vote of Town Meeting is required for the disposition of the Melone property.

A Town Forum on the Melone Disposition will be held on November 27, 2018.

A Town Meeting, which will include the Melone Disposition, will be held on December 11, 2018.
