Summer is almost here! There’s no better time than now to experience the Wild and Scenic Rivers in your own backyard. We invite you to get outside with your family for a weekend of hiking, paddling, art, and more at the 23nd annual RiverFest celebration, June 18th and 19th!

RiverFest is the annual celebration of the federally protected Sudbury, Assabet, and Concord Wild and Scenic Rivers. Congress designated the rivers in 1999, and this year we celebrate over 20 years of dedicated work to protect and enhance the rivers. RiverFest is your opportunity to explore what makes the Sudbury, Assabet, and Concord Rivers so unique and special!

In the MetroWest area, just a short drive from Boston, events will be hosted on and along the rivers highlighting the historic, recreational, scenic, and ecological values of our Wild and Scenic Rivers. From guided paddles to interpretive walks, art installations, family-friendly events, and kids’ activities, there is something for everyone, whether young or old, adventuresome or leisurely.

The River Stewardship Council (RSC) was created to promote the protection of the rivers and their resources. The RSC is a partnership of representatives from each of the eight Wild and Scenic River communities, state and federal agencies, and two regional conservation organizations. All of the events and activities of RiverFest are volunteer-led by partner organizations of the RSC.
