PUBLIC NOTICE

REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS

AGRICULTURAL LICENSES

 

 

The Sudbury Conservation Commission is soliciting proposals for the agricultural use of three town-owned farm fields on conservation land in Sudbury. These lands are currently licensed for agricultural use on licenses which expire April 30, 2012.   These fields include approximately: 6 acres at Davis Farm off Rt. 117; 19 acres at Poor Farm Meadow on Marlboro Rd.; and 6 acres at Barton Farm off Marlboro Rd.

 

In addition, two fields on the Piper Farm conservation land are being made available for the first time for agricultural use.  These fields are located off Rice and Fieldstone Farm Roads and total approximately

three acres.  The suitability of these two fields for agricultural uses is unknown.

 

Proposer(s) shall offer both a monetary payment to the Town as well as improvements to the agricultural capability of the land.  Town residents will be given preference in the awarding of the Licenses. The successful proposal(s) will result in the negotiation of License Agreements for a term of up to five years with an option to renew for an additional five years at the discretion of the Conservation Commission. 

 

The proposals for the use of any or all of these fields must be submitted in writing by 5:00pm on March 21, 2012 to the Conservation Commission at 275 Old Lancaster Road, or the Town Clerk at Town Hall, Concord Rd., Sudbury MA.

The Town reserves the right to reject any and all proposals, or any portion of any proposal submitted in response to this Invitation to Bid.
