Substitute Van Driver – Senior Center

The Town of Sudbury seeks a highly responsible and qualified Van Driver to work on a substitute basis, driving a few days per month and providing coverage during staff vacations/sick days.

This position provides safe transportation for older residents and residents with disabilities to various destinations.  Work is performed under the supervision of the Sudbury Senior Center Director. 

The Senior Center Van Driver provides safe transportation to medical appointments, stores, and social engagements using an 8, 11 or 12 passenger wheelchair accessible van.  The Driver maintains accurate passenger records and performs daily safety checks.  Candidates must have safe driving skills; organizational and interpersonal skills; and concern for the safety of passengers and equipment. 

This position requires a high school education; the ability to read and write English; possession of a valid Massachusetts driver’s license; possession of a clean driving record with no moving violations in the past five years; patience with and interest in older adults and persons with disabilities; and basic familiarity with personal computers/tablets.  Experience in working with older adults and persons with disabilities desirable. Candidates must pass a criminal background check and participate in pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screening.

The pay range for this position is $20.00/hour.  As a part-time/substitute position, the role is not eligible for benefits with the Town. Visit the following link for the full job description: Job Description
